Hi! I’m Tori Hemmerlein, and I’m getting ready to start my freshman year at Purdue University where I’ll be studying business. This summer, I’ve joined Springs Valley’s marketing team as an intern — and each week, I’ll be sharing a behind-the-scenes look at what I’m learning, discovering, and contributing.

Before this internship, I honestly didInsn’t realize just how much thought goes into making a bank more than just a place to store your money. After just one week, I’ve already seen how committed Springs Valley is to helping people — whether that’s getting them ready to buy their first home, helping them save without even thinking about it (hello, Round-Up Savings!), or showing them how to manage everything on the go through mobile banking.

One thing that’s stood out to me is how focused this bank is on meeting people where they are — and making sure every generation, from students to retirees, has the tools and support they need. We’ve talked a lot about how marketing isn’t just about promoting products — it’s about helping people understand their options and feeling confident about their money.

This week, I got to sit in on some planning meetings, help brainstorm video ideas and learn how we make sure our digital tools are as user-friendly as possible. I also got to see how important it is that everything — from a website link to a flyer — is clear, helpful, and makes someone’s day just a little bit easier.

As someone just starting out in the world of business, I’m especially inspired by how Springs Valley combines professionalism with personality. It’s a reminder that great service doesn’t have to feel stiff or complicated — it can be warm, human, and genuinely helpful.

I’m excited to keep learning each week, and I hope to bring a fresh perspective on how banking can serve people better — especially those in my generation who are just starting to think about their financial futures.
